White House announces rollback of fuel efficiency standards for automobile emissions

In the latest in an ongoing struggle between a coalition of states and the United States federal government, the Environmental Protection Agency and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration finally presented their final rule for emissions standards[1] in the US on March 31. The data used by the Trump administration to reach their final rule is in dispute,[2] as is the entire rationale behind the move.
