US indicts Chinese businesswoman with deep ties to North Korea

Ma Xiaohong was charged with violating the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA); conspiracy to violate IEEPA and defraud the United States; conspiracy to violate, evade and avoid restrictions imposed under the Weapons of Mass Destruction Proliferators Sanctions Regulations ( 31 C.F.R. § 544 ); and conspiracy to launder monetary instruments (http://bit.ly/2YCg5TB). The indictment comes three years after a previous indictment for conspiring to evade US economic sanctions and violating the Weapons of Mass Destruction Proliferators Sanctions Regulations (http://bit.ly/2KnxvL3).
