President Trump orders embargo of Venezuela

U.S. President Donald Trump issued Executive Order 13884 (http://bit.ly/33kPQzP), Blocking Property of the Government of Venezuela, on Aug 4. The order effectively places an embargo on any business transactions between the U.S. and Venezuela, and threatens secondary sanctions against non-U.S. companies that deal with Venezuela. The order also bans entry into the U.S. by any persons on the Specially Designated Nationals list, and any person who has “materially assisted, sponsored, or provided financial, material, or technological support for, or goods or services to or in support of, any person included on the list of Specially Designated Nationals and Blocked Persons maintained by the Office of Foreign Assets Control whose property and interests in property are blocked pursuant to this order.”
