US government increases pressure on Huawei, China

After the United States “blacklisted” Huawei Technologies Co., effectively cutting the Chinese company off from critical US suppliers, the entire tech industry felt the shock. Tech companies with ties to China and Huawei saw their stock price plummet, Chinese tech companies such as Lenovo reassessed the risk of the trade spat, and rural American counties began to worry about their wireless access—given that most rural counties source their components from Huawei. As The Wall Street Journal wrote:
