In order to both encourage future compliance professionals and honor the legacy of Roy Snell, each year the Mitchell Hamline School of Law Health Law Institute conducts a compliance writing contest, which is sponsored by the Health Care Compliance Association. Participants are provided with a set of facts to analyze and then draft two separate internal memoranda to two different individuals within the organization.
The memoranda must identify any and all regulatory and compliance concerns and provide advice to the recipients in a matter that reflects the recipient’s position within the organization.
Five judges, including Attorney Gabriel Imperato, a member of the board for SCCE & HCCA, reviewed the entries. The winners received a cash prize and complimentary registrations to the 2023 HCCA Compliance Institute, along with $1,500 in travel and conference-related expenses.
