It really is a marathon and not a sprint when it comes to implementing and overseeing a compliance program. You are never done, and after you have completed a particular task (i.e., annual education) it is time to ramp up and do it again. It just is how it is, and that is OK if you understand and maintain the program’s effectiveness for the organization.

It is good to consider an infrastructure work plan to help you stay on track with the basic ongoing elements of the compliance program while dealing with the investigations and day-to-day concerns that come in.
