With the persistent fragility of the global economy and uncertain outlook for years to come,[1] international investors have been looking for more predictable long-term opportunities, such as in commodities and infrastructure. The number of mergers and acquisitions has been increasing significantly in many countries. In 2021, for example, mergers and acquisitions in Brazil reached a 10-year peak, with several initial public offerings and industry-consolidation transactions.[2]
