Saying 'thanks'! A secret compliance tool that actually works

Years ago I found a very valuable tool during a company compliance review. It was a Friday afternoon, and I was interviewing a senior executive as part of my task to help evaluate the company’s compliance program. She told me she could only go until 3:00 p.m. At that time, every Friday, she called in her assistant and determined who she should thank and acknowledge for that week. I was impressed and kept that as a tool ever since.
