◆ CMS on Nov. 2 finalized the 2019 Hospital Outpatient Prospective Payment System (OPPS) regulation. Among other things, CMS extended 340B payment cuts to off-campus provider-based departments that are paid under the Medicare Physician Fee Schedule. In the 2018 OPPS regulation, CMS reduced the amount that will be paid for 340B drugs from average sales price (ASP) plus 6% to ASP minus 22.5% (RMC 11/6/17, p. 1), but off-campus provider-based departments that no longer are allowed to bill the OPPS because of Sec. 603 of the Bipartisan Budget Act of 2015 were spared.
