Most people have likely heard the saying that you can lead a horse to water but you can’t make it drink. It is no coincidence that this phrase is related to this month’s topic of explaining to new employees what communication and reporting options are available for their use to report suspected incidents of noncompliance. In the end, whether someone decides to report or not is an individual decision. However, we as compliance professionals can certainly do an effective job of making sure that new employees know their options for reporting misconduct.
