42 U.S. Code § 6346. Sustainable manufacturing initiative

(a) In generalAs part of the Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy of the Department of Energy, the Secretary, on the request of a manufacturer, shall carry out onsite technical assessments to identify opportunities for—
(1)
maximizing the energy efficiency of industrial processes and cross-cutting systems;
(2)
preventing pollution and minimizing waste;
