Integrity is not something that is always discussed in compliance and ethics. However, it is clear that it should be, particularly after the death of Senator John McCain. McCain’s integrity was well-known, starting with his captivity during the Vietnam War and his refusal to come home sooner than those who had been held in captivity longer than he had been. He endured more beatings and torture for sticking to his convictions. McCain carried that integrity with him through the profession most usually not associated with it: politics. During the eulogy at his funeral, his daughter reminded us all that basic integrity is what made and will continue to make America great.
