On Nov. 27, United States pharmacies and dispensers will need to be able to authenticate and verify all the medicines[1] they buy before they sell them to consumers. This requirement is part of Title II of the Drug Quality and Security Act—the Drug Supply Chain Security Act—which demands that companies are able to trace, store, and properly categorize all drugs in their supply chain to “prevent the introduction and circulation of counterfeit drugs and ensure the purity of the pharmaceutical supply chain.”
